I'm gonna keep a running tab of rumors and stories I see throughout the day preparing us for how the league will reshape over the next few weeks.
- The Knicks have not yet offered Carmelo Anthony a max 5 year deal. No one else can, so there's little pressure to do so. Phil Jackson would like to have Anthony however, if he leaves it gives him extra time to rebuild in the public's eye. The trade that basically swapped PG Jose Calderon from Dallas for Tyson Chandler, Center from New York. Gave them a PG who would work better with Anthony than Raymond Felton had, however it significantly weakened the Knicks upfront as they are expected to replace Chandler with journeyman Samuel Dalembert.
- Expect the Phenoix Suns to offer restricted free agent Gordan Haywood something close to a max deal. Utah Jazz have said they will match any offer. Charlotte and Boston are reportedly also players from Haywood. Source
- Shawn Marion will likely land back in Dallas unless he is a veteran the Miami Heat are targeting.
- Boris Diaw will likely take a few million less and stick around with the NBA champion Spurs.
- The Wizards are willing to give Marcin Gortat a pretty big deal to stick around in Washington.
- Loul Deng and the Charlotte Bobcats reportedly have mutual interest.
- Trevor Ariza is the Miami Heat's number one target.
- Paul Gasol will have options. He can pick where he wants to play. New York, Memphis, Miami, Dallas, Phenoix, Boston, Golden State, Oklahoma City even returning to LA is still on the table.
- Expect Isiah Thomas and the Sacramento Kings to make a pretty quick mid level deal.
- Chris Bosh will take pay cut from 22 million to something closer to 15 million. Dwayne Wade will come in around 10 million per year. Speculation on what Lebron James will take financially is too wide to decipher yet IMO.
- The Detroit Pistons will try to re-sign Greg Monroe however are not willing to over pay him.
- The Celtics were offering Rajon Rondo a three-year, $44.8 million extension, but Rondo wants a five-year extension, $104.7 million max deal. If you look at who they drafted, obviously they aren't interested in doing so. Expect to see him move.
- The Miami Heat will not be bringing Mario Chalmers back. Chris Anderson will likely move on also unless he takes a very friendly deal.
- Kyrie Irving is expected to sign an extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers for 5 years, $90 million possibly as soon as tomorrow.
- Look for Lamarcus Aldridge to sign a max extention with the Portland Trailblazers.
